Resources for Leaders of Young Men and Women
Success in a YSA ward begins before our youth arrive there. Here we discuss how to prepare our youth to succeed as missionaries, husbands, wives, mothers and fathers
My Ways are Not Your Ways
Why are we doing so poorly preparing our youth for missions, marriage and college? One reason may be that the focus of many parents and youth leaders is to help our youth find their lives. Too often we define strong youth programs as those with a large "critical mass" of youth, well-planned activities, and opportunities for Latter-day Saint friendships. These are good things to have. But while we work so hard to provide enriching experiences for our youth, we sometimes deny them the most important opportunity of all—the chance to lose their lives for the sake of the gospel.
Strengthening our Young Men and Women by Giving them Callings in the Church
Giving young men and young women opportunities to
serve in meaningful ways strengthens their testimonies,
deepens their commitment, and prepares them to transition into
less structured environments. This document discusses ways to
find meaningful callings for our youth.
